Community Garden

We have been busy trying to get our community garden on it's feet. If you have been following this blog, you know that I put 100% into everything I do. Since, I put so much love and energy into it, sometimes I get burnt out or just burned by others. However, I can't see doing it any other way. With Noor Janan Homeschool, it has been a little of both. A couple of comments that were left has me reassessing what I am trying to do with this blog. It is such a huge responsibility to run it all on a volunteer basis. I think some people may forget that I have a family and other responsibilities and I am doing this as a service to others with no financial compensation. I think some people may forget that I am a person with feelings and usually the most creative people are the most sensitive.

So I took some time off from Noor Janan to devote time to other service projects that I equally felt the need to give 100% to. I was working on an Ilm (Online Islamic Education) initiative, helping with administrative and setting up their blog. I began our current Community Garden project: Makkah Community Garden which is a very unique project as it is being done on Masjid grounds. A Community Garden located on any religious property is rare, but on a Masjid property is a very unique project that I pray that Allah will give us much success in.

Noor Janan may move in other directions in the future, however I do have plans to finish our Islamic Curriculum including the popular 99 Names of Allah- The Name and the Named. I apologize that it has taken this long to complete, but inshaAllah the whole set will be done by Eid al-Fitr. My hope is to give important updates, as they are made concrete. In the meantime, stay connected with us through Makkah Community Garden project and if you are local, please come by for a visit!
