Ramadhan is Here!

Our family has been homeschooling on the road this Summer. We were able to visit family & friends in Washington DC & friends in Pittsburgh, PA. We also spent some time relaxing at the beach in Chicago, IL of all places and we just got back from Dallas, TX last night.

Although, the kids had a week off of schooling in Dallas, I was busy coming up with a Ramadhan schedule so that our Ramadhan will be filled with Learning, Reflection, FUN, and Fasting.  Part of the fun that I was planning has been a Ramadhan Tradition in our family for 7 years. I am excited to share the tradition and my first Free Download with you all. The game is called Pin the Muezzin on the Minaret, I created it for my kids based off one of my favorite childhood games Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

Frogs and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails,

The Watsons go to Birmingham

We are off on another road trip to visit one of my dearest friends from California, she is down in Birmingham, AL for a family reunion, so of course we can drive the 3 hours to go see her. I try not to let a learning opportunity pass us by, so we did a history walk and visited one of our favorite zoos: Birmingham Zoo.

Temptations memorial downtown.

Summer 2011- Road Trip

Humble Dad's job had a conference in Chicago, so of course we became his tag-a-long. We hardly ever do things the easy way, I always have to spice it up a little bit. Hey, I like things spicy! So instead of traveling from Nashville to Chicago directly, we went from Nashville to Washington DC to Pittsburgh, PA to Cleveland, OH and finally we made it to Chicago, IL just in time for the week long conference.
