Eid Al Adha 2009

We began our celebration at dusk the night before the Eid. We had a special dinner, with homemade peach cobbler. We opened our gifts. The Eid lights we strung this year were pink, and we made felt star and crescent Eid flags to use over and over again each year.

Although, Eid night was a family affair, the day of Eid was all about community. First we had the Eid prayer in Murfreesboro, a city east of Nashville. where the kids ate sweets, jumped on bouncers, and rode a pony.

In the afternoon, we went to a community center in a Nashville suburb, where they had more food, more bouncers, more face paint, more friends, and more fun! Although, I spent most of my time in the kitchen helping the hard working sisters, it was a very rewarding experience to see the smiles on everyones face.

Space Camp- Huntsville, Alabama

We drove down to Alabama to go to the Space Camp Museum. I am a child of the 80's and the movie Space Camp increased my curiosity for not just space camp, but space travel. After visiting the museum, my children are just as excited about space as I am.

3D animation has improved so much, even Lil A was reaching out to touch the flies, in the movie "Fly Me to the Moon".
